MUDDY BUDDY Ride & Run at Disney's Wide World of Sports - 05/10/08 - photos by Melissa Wolcott Martino : The 2008 Muddy Buddy Orlando took place on May 10, 2008. This unique trail running and biking race was fun and challenging for everyone. Both beginning athletes and experienced racers alike will had a great time along the course and through the obstacles, especially in the infamous Mud Pit. The race featured a 6.5 mile course and 5 obstacles. At the start of the race, one team member ran and one rode the bike. At the 1st obstacle, the rider dropped the bike, completed the obstacle, and began running. The runner then arrived, completed the obstacle, found their bike, and began riding. Teams continued leapfrogging each other through the entire course. At the end of the race, racers crawled through a Mud Pit crossing the finish line together. There was also a mini Muddy Buddy for kids. The event offered a short obstacle course before the kids entered the mud pit.
