A most delightful concept in theater/dining has just opened up in Hyde Park Village. Imagine an upscale casual eatery and a comfortable lounge and a state-of-the-art movie theater all in one. This is Cinébistro, and here you can watch popular first run movies in oversized leather rocking chairs with wide arm rests and a swing out tray with a cupholder.
The theater operates much like live theater, in that when you purchase a ticket (on line or at the theater) you choose the seat you want to sit in. Patrons arrive 30 minutes before their selected movie, and order dinner. The food and beverage are then brought to your seat by a waiter. The theater also has a choice wine list and some signature house drinks. You don’t have to order food if you don’t wish, you can just enjoy the movie experience.
The food is all fresh, prepared right on property, and brought to you by Chef Mike Lopez. The Cinébistro menu is well selected, with diverse dishes, great desserts, and assorted coffees and teas. There is also a concession stand if you come in late. You can order your food, receive a pager, and pick up your food when it’s ready. Once the film starts, no waiters will be in the theater. And yes, you can still get candy and popcorn.
Don’t want to see a movie, but would like to have a bite to eat, or have a drink in comfortable surroundings? Cinébistro is also the place to go, as their lounge area is open to the public. Soon to be on tap, is a self-dispensing wine bar in the lounge area.
To seal the deal as a great date night destination, the age limit for Cinébistro is 21 plus. The theater will, on occasion, have family matinees when certain types of films are being shown.
